Travis Scott x Nike: The Collaboration that Revolutionized the Sneakers World

The collaboration between Nike and Travis Scott is undoubtedly one of the most famous and successful of recent times and has created a perfect marriage between the world of music and streetwear. The first collaborations

The first major collaboration between Nike and Travis Scott that marked the beginning of their long-lasting collaboration dates back to 2017 with the launch of the Air Force 1 Travis Scott White to celebrate the 35th anniversary of one of the most iconic silhouettes in history. The sneaker has interchangeable swooshes and removable patches on the laces inspired by the Cactus Jack theme, the name of his record label.

Since this Air Force, the collaboration has expanded to other models including the Jordan 4 “Cactus Jack” that celebrates a bygone era of the Houston football team, when they took to the field dressed in red, white and blue. Air Jordan 1 x Travis Scott

The most famous project of this collaboration was the launch of the Jordan 1 Travis Scott, which marked a turning point in this union. Released for the first time in 2019, they have as their main feature the inverted Swoosh, which has become the distinctive feature of the collaboration between Nike and Travis. The design of these Air Jordan 1 “Mocha” combines a vintage aesthetic, premium materials and a mix of brown and black colors that have allowed them to become a versatile shoe but always at the forefront of the fashion world. This model also came out in a High version and was a great success among collectors.

In 2022, the Jordan 1 Low “Reverse Mocha” will be released which, as the name suggests, feature the reversed colors compared to the previous “Mocha” version, as the upper is predominantly white, with light brown details and contrasting red elements.

In a completely unexpected colorway, also in 2022, the Nike Air Jordan 1 Low “Black Phantom” was released, with a total black upper and white details. This model also has all the characteristics that bring back the collaboration between Travis and Nike, but it differs for the embroidery of a bee on the heel, which the artist dedicated to his daughter Stormie.

In 2023, the “Olive” colorway was released in W sizes, and it features a color combination that certainly didn’t go unnoticed. The upper has a white leather base with black suede overlays and an olive-colored reverse swoosh, while red details complete the design creating contrast.

The success of this color mix led to a new version in September 2024 in the “Medium Olive” colorway with a white upper and an inverted colorway compared to the previous one which features olive suede details and a black swoosh.

Breaking into the latest releases is the Jordan 1 Low “Canary,” in its bold yellow colorway it draws inspiration from the colors of Elkins High School, Travis Scott’s high school. The sneaker’s base is in light silver while the leather overlays come in the canary colorway, blue racer details complete the design.

The collaboration between Nike and Travis Scott has therefore inevitably redefined the panorama of sneakers, creating iconic and sought-after models, transforming the sneaker into a true cult object for collectors and enthusiasts.

The next chapter of this collaboration will open in December 2024 with the release of another colorway of the Jordan 1 Low.
