The Familia x Nike SB Dunk Low "First Avenue" is a collaboration of the Minneapolis skate shop in a colourway inspired by a popular music venue in the city of Minnesota. First Avenue is a downtown Minneapolis venue that regularly hosts concerts and events, and Familia shows its appreciation for the landmark with special details and branding. The shoe is designed primarily in monochrome black and features black suede on the perforated toe and center panel.

Color matched leather appears on the forefoot and eyelet panels. The black leather with brick-style pattern that sits on the heel is a nod to the black painted exterior of First Avenue. A white star embroidered on the side is Familia's homage to the building's 500 stars commemorating artists of the past. The color matched Swoosh features a reflective finish. The upper features a wear-away design that fades from black to purple to match the laces, a move that pays homage to the most popular artist in First Avenue history: Prince, who was born in Minneapolis. The co-branded insoles feature graphics inspired by the venue's checkerboard floor and the first live show, which took place on April 3, 1970.
