Nike Lebron 16 Low Atmos Safari
Nike Lebron 16 Low Atmos Safari is a special edition of the sixteenth shoe by LeBron James released as part of the LeBron Watch collection. The wild colourway is inspired by the classic atmos x Nike Air Max 1 released in 2003, the same year James joined the NBA. This construction translates the colourway on the LeBron 16 Low, featuring an orange suede base with Safari-print leather panels in the shape of the Air Max 1 fender. The design also includes a fabric collar and tongue, with a zipper closure that runs along the length of the tongue. Other details of the original Air Max 1 are also present, including the mini Swoosh logo on the toes. A gum rubber outsole completes the design. The limited edition Nike LeBron 16 Low "Safari" was released on March 2, 2019.
LeBron James:
At the beginning, Nike was very little marketed in Italy and a lot of hype for the new AND1 brand that drove everyone crazy with the Tai Chi Mid. From the dunk contest won by Vince Carter in 2000, the AND1 soon became famous also with us and dominated the basketball shoe stage for years. They were the first to market it in Turin and make it one of the best-selling shoes of the time in Italy. One of the shoes that made history was also the Adidas T-Mac 2 (2002). Tracy McGrady was rapidly climbing the NBA top scorers chart. His Adidas line proved more popular than Kobe’s and the T-Mac 2 version was also used by a very young Lebron James.
But Nike has never been idle and in 2003 the interest in that young Lebron materialized with the signing of a contract that is still in place today. With the Nike Air Zoom Generation on his feet, Lebron started his story: the era of the King began.
