Lance Mountain x Air Jordan 1 Retro is a tribute to the 1986 video "The Search for Animal Chin", a documentary showing Lance Mountain on the skate wearing an Air Jordan 1 "Royal" sneaker on his left foot and a Carolina blue Air Jordan 1 on his right. It was not just a style choice but also a strategic one: the Air Jordan 1 model was adapted by West Coast skaters, often mismatched pairs, sometimes painting them the same color to recreate a unique look.

The idea of ​​this original version is to resume the "do-it-yourself" techniques to create a street look but at the same time innovative. In fact, a layer of white paint is applied to the leather base, which intentionally shatters with wear over time to reveal the "true" underlying color.
