Released in September 2014, the all-black Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro NYC model is a tribute to Flight 23 to New York City. The shoe encloses the charm of the city in a dark upper in black leather, covered with layers of suede that defines the perforated toe, the side and upper panels up to the padded collar.

The Swoosh is camouflaged in the central part of the foot, while a red Jumpman stands out in the label sewn on the tongue. The real curiosity of this shoe is found on the back: a raised "23" is embossed on one heel and "NY" slang on the other. The black design taken from the tread is broken up by a gray marbled patterned midsole.
