It was in December 2020 that New Balance decided to reintroduce an archival model originally released in 1989 on the market. The vintage style of the sneaker remains, but without the "yellowed" effect that once characterized the midsole.

The upper is constructed with overlays in smooth and perforated leather and with light and breathable fabric which features the collar and tongue. This colorway then offers black and, above all, red details, such as those of the embossed Ns placed on the profiles, the soft collar, the New Balance logo on the heel and the seams of the tongue. The durable rubber tread includes both colors, contrasting with the white midsole, and dyes the toe and heel in red and the central part in black.
