News of the KAWS x Uniqlo UT collaboration leaked two months before the official announcement. KAWS then turned to Instagram to officially communicate the collaboration by publishing several animated posts with BFF and Companion with different KAWS x Uniqlo T-shirts. Shortly after, KAWS announced on Instagram that this would be the last collaboration between the artist and Uniqlo.

To resume his works exhibited at the GONE exhibition, the artist chooses the image of Companion KAWS that he carries in his arms BFF also for this white GONE T-shirt. The XX, the artist's unmistakable signature, are embroidered on the sleeve of the T-shirt. The release of the T-shirt was on Monday 3 June 2019.
